Chargel, a Senegalese logistics tech startup founded by brothers Moustapha and Alioune Ndoye, has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to expand its platform and reach to an additional Francophone African country. Chargel digitizes processes in the trucking business, matching shippers with transporters to solve inefficiencies and increase profits for owner-operators. Its clients include some of the world’s largest shipping companies, such as Maersk and Grimaldi. The funding round was led by Logos Ventures, with participation from Ventures Platform, Foundation Botnar, DFS Labs, and Seedstars. With operations in Mali, Guinea, and Mauritania, Chargel plans to establish full operations in another country to increase regional coverage and improve road freight logistics.
